The skinny
Another annual enrollment season like this? No thanks. Peak busy season doesn’t have to equate to peak burn-out season.
It's the small things
Self-care might be the go-to advice for taking care of yourself, but it doesn’t have to be a big spa day to make a difference. Our advice? Make time for yourself by protecting time for yourself. Go into your work calendar and start blocking your schedule for lunch breaks, mini breaks, or even short reminders to stand up and walk around for a minute. It's not about the amount of time you dedicate to yourself, but the quality of that time, so make it count. Trust us, your brain will thank you.
No is a complete sentence
Prioritization is critical year-round, but especially now. As you protect your “you” time, think through how you can also protect your productivity time. Plan what your priorities are in advance and commit to sticking to that. When the unexpected pops up, give yourself permission to say “no” or to ask for more flexibility.
Pop quiz?
No thanks. Let’s be real: you already know what questions you’re going to be fielding during annual enrollment, and if you don’t here’s a comprehensive list for inspiration. Do yourself and others the favor of getting ahead of the Qs by sending out the answer sheet.
Be resourceful
Resources like technology seek to make our lives easier and more productive. Seeking moments throughout each day to give yourself a mental break and focus on the good is ok and helpful! These shortcuts and efficiencies alleviate the burden of being busy, giving you all the more space to just take a beat to rest. You're not alone this AE season. Whether it be an app, a podcast, or a person, it’s just good to know that someone’s got your back.
