Another amazing October is now in the books. A bittersweet anniversary for us…our 10^th Team WA Race for the Cure. All in memory of our adored mom, Linda!!

As a result of the loss of our mom, the three Wermersen girls started up the Team WA Foundation. Let me tell you about the WHY behind this cause.

May 2008, heaven became more beautiful when our mother became an angel. We had success with Race for The Cure® every October and knew we could take the support we’d received a step further. In 2010 we hosted an ‘after-race’ fundraiser with friends and family and raised more money than expected. While we graciously raise funds for Susan G. Komen and other research foundations, we wanted to keep the money local. Thus the TEAM WA FOUNDATION was born.

Team WA Mission Statement:

Team WA was formed in memory of Linda Wermersen and honoring her fight against Breast Cancer.

The mission of the Team WA Foundation is to embrace and support local families in the midst of their own battle with breast cancer by momentarily enhancing their life with a gift providing a lifetime of memories.

Because of the support of our generous sponsors (i.e. Businessolver, GSS, Tom Halterman/Outcomes MTM, Acumen) and our faithful, ever growing group of individual contributors, the Team WA foundation has been able to gift six women battling breast cancer. We have given everything from trips to Kansas City & Minneapolis to straight monetary contributions. Meeting these remarkable women and their families and hearing their stories is extremely moving & motivating. Here are some pictures capturing some of our favorite moments.

As we complete our favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, we will be honoring our 7^th women in the fight of her life. It is absolutely our favorite day of the year. A day to honor our mama, be SO thankful, count our blessings and most importantly, touch someone else’s life in a positive way.

Team WA will be continuing our mission into 2017 and look forward to everyone’s continued partnership &and support! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we wish you all a blessed season of giving!
