Let’s start off on the right foot

This weekend, take time to reflect on all that your people do to persevere in the workplace.

Happy Labor Day weekend!

On Sept. 5, 1882, 10,000 workers took unpaid time off to march from City Hall to Union Square in NYC, spreading awareness about poor working conditions, inhumane hours, and unlivable pay.

12 years later.

After a period of national unrest, including deadly riots, Congress sided with workers’ rights. On June 28, 1894, the holiday was signed into law. Today, the nation enjoys a long weekend with parades, camping trips, and barbecues.

You mean, like, fun?

Yes! And don’t we deserve it! Especially as many companies are urging their workforce to return to the office this month, employers need to use this moment to remember that business can’t get done without the people who put in the work.

Later, alligator.

Taking time off together—as an entire workforce—truly communicates the goal is to disconnect. As workers’ productivity only increases, recharge days are essential to employee health and well-being.

On that note.

Our Skinny team is full force in the ‘play hard’ portion of ‘work hard, play hard.’ We’ll be back in your inbox on Saturday, Sept. 17. An empathetic culture that prioritizes this type of flexibility is needed to take care of talent in 2022.
