Hackathon_Throwdown_Businessolver-01

Our first annual Businessolver Hackathon Throwdown is officially in the books, and let me tell you the long story short…

Our. Teams. Killed it.

I’ve known for quite some time that we have the best product team in the business, but the work that was presented this week certainly proved it—again. Each team brought a workable, innovative concept—with some teams going beyond concept and presenting finished, workable code. Talk about impressive!

Over the weekend, our teams let loose and pushed the Benefitsolver platform forward in five different categories. We started with loose parameters, not knowing what to expect, and what was revealed on Monday during the final presentations surpassed any of our original expectations. We were presented with killer (working!) proof of concepts, amazing behind-the-scenes productivity enhancements and immediate product enhancements that our clients can look forward to seeing in Benefitsolver within the next few weeks.

It was an inspiring combination of creativity, persistence, teamwork and camaraderie, all mixed with a critical eye and a common goal: to drive client delight. We really couldn’t have asked for more.

Congratulations to our winning teams in the following categories, below:

  • Best in Show, Working Code: Team SSO Dashboard
  • Best in Show, Prototype: Kamikaze Hackers
  • Best in Technical Efficiencies: Code Monkeeyz
  • Best in Portal: Panthers
  • Quick Hit Gold Medal: Ride or Die
  • Quick Hit Silver Medal: (excellent)
  • Quick Hit Bronze Medal: Pom (Pete + Tom)
  • Swing and a Miss: Dank Dev Destroyers (interns)
  • Great Start Award: Let Me Think…

Thank you to all of the participants who dedicated their time towards making Benefitsolver even better for ourselves and our clients. Your dedication, enthusiasm, commitment and passion truly shined and will last well beyond this week.

As fast as our first hackathon came and went, we’re looking forward to our next one and teams are already brainstorming and strategizing for what they want to accomplish next. Creative thinking is contagious, and we definitely set fire to many bright sparks.

Without a doubt, we’ll be doing this again. We’ll do it even better. And we’ll do it again soon.
