Our friends at the American Heart Association of Iowa were in the office this week to talk about CPR Awareness Week. They’re also helping us celebrate volunteers in June! Kim Hanken, Heart Ball Director and Kayla Kovarna, Metro Executive Director, depend upon volunteers when promoting heart health awareness and the fact that CPR saves lives.
Kim shared the 13% is why she volunteers: “Only 13% of individuals who suffer a cardiac event survive, but when a bystander performs CPR, their chances of survival triple." #lifeiswhyia #keepthebeatia
