Businessolver employees and their four-legged friends hit the trail this past weekend for a fun and healthy event at Raccoon River Park in Des Moines. The Businessdogger 5k was the brain child of the company’s Fun and Activities Committee, meant to be a fun and engaging way for employees to do a healthy activity with their dogs and family in an effort to benefit the Quarter 3 Charity: AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport. The event’s entrance fee was an item from the shelter’s wish list. Over 30 Businessolver employees brought much-needed shelter supplies and opened their wallets to raise over $400 in cash for the shelter that helps transport animals to foster care and no-kill shelters. Thank you to everyone who turned out to support an organization making a difference in the community. We’re already looking at doing the event again in 2017!
We’re just over a month into Q3 and our charity focus has been kicking into high gear! The charities of choice we have been supporting include two main organizations that help furry friends live better lives.
The Businessolver Denver crew was out and running last weekend at the annual Colfax Marathon. This 2 day, 7 race event provides runners several options for competition, all benefiting charity! Businessolver’s Denver racers, Mark Rehberger, Dawn Gries, Jarrod Darden, Jennifer Pike, and Patrick Lahart all ran 10 mile legs in the Marathon Relay benefiting Make-A Wish.
Businessolver recently supported Ronald McDonald House of Denver by sponsoring the 2016 Storybook Ball. The annual gala had a Lady and the Tramp theme and those in attendance were able to meet RMDH families, bid on auction items and learn about the organization’s mission of providing families with children being treated at area hospitals, a loving home away from home. They have been fulfilling this mission for over 36 years and among other things, providing families much-needed piece of mind.
Imagine giving yourself a shot two times a day to regulate your insulin level and pricking your finger several times a day to get a drop of blood to check your sugar levels. If you don’t, your blood sugar level could soar so high or so low that you become lethargic, or if you’re asleep, you can’t wake yourself up. It’s called a Diabetic Coma, and this is a scary reality for millions of Americans, mostly adults, living with Juvenile or type 1 diabetes (T1D).
High energy. A sea of pink. A ton of fun. These are a few sentences that describe the Susan G. Komen race that took place in Los Angeles this past weekend at Dodger Stadium. This was the second of 11 races Team Businessolver is participating in this year.
“A moving event and very proud to represent Businessolver.”
– Anthony Leone, Senior Sales Consultant
Businessolver kicked off its fight to stamp out breast cancer by participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in sunny Estero, Florida this past Saturday. This was the first of 11 races Team Businessolver will participate in throughout the country. A HUGE thank you to Businessolver Senior Sales Consultant, Anthony Leone and his family who drove an hour to participate in the event. Businessolver is honored to support an organization that sheds light on a devastating disease and celebrates survivors, their families and supports the important work of cancer research.
